Cookies for Santa
Lauren and Mommy made Christmas cookies to leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve. Lauren kept trying to eat the raw dough, so Mom had to do most of the cookie cutting. Decorating the cookies with sprinkles turned out to be a great job for Lauren. Now we just have to make sure Daddy saves some of the cookies for Santa.

This is what Christmas is all about!
Luke 2:8-12
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Walking in a Winter Wonderland
We couldn't believe it, we had a white Thanksgiving! What a perfect way to kick off the holiday season. We traveled to Midland for Thanksgiving, and we didn't really pack clothes for snowy weather. But that didn't stop us from letting Lauren play in the snow for the first time. She couldn't stop smiling and it melted our hearts to see her have so much fun. I think these pictures pretty much say it all, she is definitely our little snow bunny.

Some of the pictures are a little blurry because Lauren was running around so fast and wouldn't stand still long enough for us to get her picture

how red Lauren's cheeks were from playing outside.

Trick or Treat!
Lauren was a butterfly this year for Halloween, and she couldn't have been cuter. To our surprise she didn't mind wearing the wings, but Mom couldn't get her to keep the antennas on her head. Our street had a block party with hot dogs, nachos, and loads of candy. She went trick or treating in her wagon, although I'm sure Dad will be the one to eat most of her candy. Our street was filled with kids in costumes and even a haunted house. Lauren loved it all!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkin!
It wouldn't be October without a trip to the pumpkin patch, and if your Lauren one trip would never be enough. She went with cousin Will twice in Austin, and she also went with her friends to the patch in Pearland. After 3 pumpkin patch trips, Mom finally got enough pictures of Lauren in the pumpkins.

1st Birthday
Lauren is officially a big girl. She turned 1 year old on October 6. We can't believe what an amazing and blessed year it has been for us. Lauren had a kitty cat birthday party to celebrate her special day. She loves kitty cats, and "kitty" is one of the three words she can say (along with Mama and Daddy). She looked adorable in her kitty cat dress and kitty cat ears, but the ears didn't stay on for long because she doesn't like anything on her head. Birthday cake is now one of Lauren's favorite foods, but only if she can eat it with her hands and smear icing everywhere. We had such a fun day, and it was the perfect way to celebrate our special little girl.
